One of the trite and completely useless exercises we have to go through every election cycle is the breathless reporting of who is supporting which candidate. The networks and news outlets are spreading these announcements with enthusiasm and reporting with an energy that has an undertone of excitement. But underlying this practice is a miserable truth: announced endorsements do absolutely nothing to influence voter support.
The truth is this only What these supports accomplish is that they make those rooted feel better about their established decision. For us, find a single person who admits that they were really undecided about their vote until they heard that a notable figure or organization had endorsed one candidate or the other. Anyone who divulges this shows complete civic ignorance and would be a reason to throw their voter ID into the shredder along with the latest credit card promo.
But these announcements remain, and during this particular election the impotence of advocates has become even clearer. It appears that those supporting Harris have been praised even louder this year, and the seriousness of the announcement shows the desperation her campaign has taken on over the last month. Instead of luring people into their camp, it turns off voters more than a goth hippie trying to get a spot in the high school cafeteria.
We’re told it’s critically essential that former Vice President Dick Cheney endorses Harris. This news would only impress Never Trump zealots. Vice President Dick has not been influential in any way for over a decade, and no Republican is challenging his position because of his support. That’s why Democrats consider the man they once compared to the devil to be a great ally. This was, of course, because his daughter Liz also supported Harris, a supposedly significant act. Democratic apple cleaner Mary Bruce of ABC News pushed this endorsement as if it were a change of axis.

This is pure desperate persistence on Bruce’s part. How is it “amazing” that the woman who complained about Trump for eight years isn’t supporting him today?! And I’m sorry, Mary, but Liz has long since lost all relevance to being called “prominent” in the Republican Party. She was stripped of her leadership years ago, and her voters voted her out so decisively that she was driven out of Wyoming faster than an FBI informant thrown out the door of a biker bar. She has been on a desperate Democratic endorsement spree for years and is a fixture on MSNBC. The only complex decision a Republican faces because of Liz Cheney is which channel to switch to when she appears on television.
What was also amusing was how many media outlets rushed to report that famed rocker Bruce Springsteen would be releasing a video endorsement for Kamala. This is a prime example of the neutered aspect of these recommendations. Who is even surprised? A celebrity worth $100 million supports a Democrat?! This is just as relevant as the alarm indicating that McDonald’s has a batch of French fries waiting.

To illustrate the desperation behind the Harris campaign and the need to have Kamala endorsed by some organization, it was said that she was endorsed by a police organization. Not only does this not influence any voter, but it also has the opposite effect as it shows the emptiness of their campaign. In a purely contrived maneuver, a newly formed group — The Police Leaders for Community Safety — not only endorses Harris, but claims she “usually supported Trump.” This is only partially impossible considering it was only created in June.
One of the more hilarious “shocking” recommendations comes from my state of Florida. The utterly ineffective state Democratic Party Chairwoman Nikki Fried broke the thrilling news that another turncoat is now supporting Kamala.

Okay, so who is Cardenas and how huge is this??? You can place this statement right next to Liz Cheney’s. Cardenas has not been a factor in the state since at least 2016. He is another neutered Never-Trumper and has had no influence within the state or the party since serving under Jeb Bush. He’s currently a D.C. lobbyist, meaning there’s a chance his support was bought.
There’s another reason to completely mock this former Republican: He’s married to none other than a well-known leftist in GOP attire and one of the cackling women on “The View” – Ana Navarro.
So as you head to the polls now, these endorsements should remind you of something significant: They mean absolutely nothing and mean less than the empty, grease-smeared box of French fries you throw in the trash when you walk into your local polling place.
