A group of house democrats in the first time asked the spokeswoman Mike Johnson (R-La.) To bring legislation into the house floor that would reduce the costs for Americans.

“The congress should consider legislation that deals with the lowering of consumer costs and improving the quality of life,” the Democrats wrote. “The congress has the possibility – and responsibility – to issue meaningful guidelines that react directly to the urgent questions of American families. We believe that suggestions on the affordability, the development of the workforce, infrastructure investments and improved access to health care should be priorities for this legislative session.”

A Gallup survey published on Wednesday showed that 29 percent of the Americans said that inflation is the most vital financial problem they deal with, a lower proportion than 41 percent, which said the same in 2024.
The trade department said that inflation cooled this week, with consumer prices in March compared to only 2.3 percent in February compared to the previous year of 2.7 percent in February. Without the volatile categories for food and energy, core prices rose by 2.6 percent compared to the previous year, below February of 3 percent.
However, many economists expect inflation to enhance after President Trump’s global tariffs.
Johnson is currently working on saying goodbye to Trump’s legislative agenda, which the Democrats claim to harm average Americans. Johnson and other Republicans of the Republicans of the House met Trump in the White House to discuss the law on Thursday.
