After his historic election victory, President-elect Donald Trump promised to hit the ground running.
Boy oh boy, that wasn’t a joke.
Trump initially named his 2024 campaign manager, Susie Wiles, as his White House chief of staff. The experienced Republican operative – I apply that term in a positive sense here – is a no-nonsense professional behind the scenes.
While Wiles avoids the spotlight, Trump puts his full trust in her:
Susie Wiles just helped me achieve one of the greatest political victories in American history and was an integral part of my successful 2016 and 2020 campaigns. Susie is tough, clever, novel, and widely admired and respected. Susie will continue to work tirelessly to Make America Great Again. It is a well-deserved honor to have Susie as the first female Chief of Staff in United States history. I have no doubt that she will make our country proud.
Vice President-elect JD Vance said it best in a post to X: “This is great news. Susie was a great asset to President Trump on the campaign trail and will be a great asset to the White House. She’s also just a really good person.

Next, Trump appointed former acting ICE Director Tom Homan as his “border czar.”
When I wrote the above sentence, I laughed out noisy at the contrast between Homan and Biden’s “border czar” Kamala Harris, who denied ever being Biden’s border czar after doing zero to protect the border. On the contrary, Harris worked to make the never-ending flood of illegal aliens even worse.
Trump said in his announcement:
I am pleased to announce that former ICE Director and devoted border control expert Tom Homan is joining the Trump Administration and will be responsible for our nation’s borders (“Border Czar”), including but not confined to the Southern Border, Northern border, all maritime and air security.
I have known Tom for a long time and there is no one better at monitoring and controlling our borders. Likewise, Tom Homan will be responsible for all deportations of illegal aliens to their country of origin. Congratulations to Tom. I have no doubt that he will do a fantastic and long-awaited job.
Simple prediction: Homan will be the ultimate definition of a much-needed border czar.

And on Sunday evening, the president-elect appointed New York MP Elise Stefanik (r.) as US ambassador to the United Nations. As I said in the headline, there is always criticism of the future government.
Trump said from Stefanik:
It is my honor to nominate Chairwoman Elise Stefanik to serve in my Cabinet as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. Elise is an incredibly robust, tough and clever America First fighter.
Stefanik said she was honored to accept the critical position.
I stand ready to lead President Donald J. Trump’s restoration of America First peace through robust leadership on the world stage on day one at the United Nations.

Stefanik was known as a more moderate conservative voice at the start of her term. But she soon aligned herself with the former president, quietly transformed her image into that of a devoted MAGA ally — and saw her power grow. Stefanik was re-elected on Tuesday with more than 63% of the vote.
As I write this, illegal immigrants en route to our southern border could not be reached for comment.
The conclusion
There’s a fresh sheriff in town. His name is Donald J. Trump. As I said above, he hit the ground running and built a team that will truly make America great again.
