The US house passed a legislative template on Thursday to oblige the voters to demonstrate the US citizenship when registering for voting, and a republican priority against the objections of Democrats, which said that the law would only create hurdles for authorized voters without actually improving fraud protection.

The 220-208 votes sent the measure to the US Senate, where it is exposed to a high-up street in order to overcome the 60-counter requirement of the chamber for most laws. If the legislation would be put into force, the legislative template that is responsible for the administration of elections would require to maintain people who register in federal elections who prove the US citizenship.

The acceptable documents within the framework of the law include a well-founded photo ID, a state or tribe published by the Federal Government, which shows that the applicant’s birthplace was the United States, or a combination of a valid state-based photo consideration and another document that proves citizenship such as a birth certificate or a birth certificate.

Four House Democrats – Jared Golden from Maine, Marie Gluensenkamp Perez from Washington, Ed Hawaii and Henry Cuellar from Texas – joined all Republicans present to vote for the bill.

Followers of the legislation say that it is needed to keep immigrants in the country without legal status before voting.

It is already illegal that citizens do not coordinate in federal elections, although some local authorities enable the residents of non -state members to coordinate in the local elections.

GOP priority

By combating fraudulent votes and illegally addressed against immigrants in the country, two boards of the Republican platform under President Donald Trump deals with the laws. Trump has consistently positioned himself as a hardliner for immigration and continues to pronounce the unmasked claim that fraud caused his loss of election of 2020.

During the ground debate this week, the sponsor of the Law of Texas Republican Chip Roy said the measure with the title “The Sactuard American Voter Voter Voter – Act, Act, to the message that voters who chose Trump and Republican majorities in both chambers of the congress last year after the disturbance of the democratic president Joe Biden in both chambers of the Congress reacts.

“The Republicans react to an American people who are fed up with enabling the former government to get the illegals into our country, kill our citizens, coordinate in our elections and to undermine our country,” said Roy. “And we do not address your concerns and our colleagues on the other side of the gang.”

Hurdy for citizens

However, Democrats said that the measure was unnecessary to prevent the extremely sporadic cases of non -state members in federal elections, and it would only have been more arduous for the justified citizens, including married women who have changed their names, may not have updated their documents.

“I think the gentleman from Texas will be happy to find out that it is already the law that only American citizens can vote in federal elections,” said Rep. Jim McGovern, a Democrat of Massachusetts, according to Roy’s comments. “Our problem with the Save Act is that it is an attempt to make women in this country, women who are US citizens more difficult to choose.”

At a virtual press conference on Thursday, democratic state secretaries – the office in most countries who are responsible for the election administration showed the difficulties that could cause justified voters.

“If you lose your driver’s license or birth certificate, reject or even marry your passport and take your partner’s last name, this can all prevent a voter from hearing his voice in free and fair elections when the Save Act is said goodbye,” said Jena Griswold, Foreign Minister of Colorado. “Replacing only one of these documents – let alone several documents required for registration – costs time and money that not every American has.

“Women who are entitled to be justified by the election should not be stopped by (house spokesman) Mike Johnson and Donald Trump.”
