Good morning and welcome to RedState’s Morning Minute – a quick look at what stories are trending right now and a look ahead to what the day might bring. Consider this your one-stop shop for news to lend a hand you start your day.
UP IN THE MORNING
Tucker Carlson hits the nail on the head with epic tirade against Kamala, the “creepy” Liz Cheney
“You can look at them [leftists] Straight to your face and say, “I’m sorry, Dad’s home – and he’s mad!” Exactly. Americans are pissed, and it’s time to educate the country and throw the bums out of office.
The funniest parts of CNN’s response to Kamala’s disastrous town hall
But perhaps the funniest thing was how commentator David Urban summed it up and how people around him, especially Democratic activist David Axelrod, looked disheartened.
NEW: Domestic violence scandal involving Doug Emhoff breaks out, ex-girlfriend reports accusation
There is no doubt that a story like this about a Republican would end up on the front page. Now that the woman who was allegedly abused has gone on record, will the press finally report it?
WHAT’S UPCOMING?
Today on Capitol Hill…
Not much. They are largely focused on November 5th. However, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) appears concentrated about denigrating the non-establishment wing of the party before handing the reins to someone less… Mitchy.
Meanwhile, Republicans in the Senate and House are hoping to capitalize on Trump’s second presidency (instead of just whining about his annoyance). lay out an agenda.
What’s going on in the White House?
The only thing President Joe Biden has planned for Thursday besides receiving his Daily Brief is a trip to Phoenix, Arizona.
The home stretch
Fresh from her CNN Town Hall with Anderson Cooper (which wasn’t particularly sizzling), Vice President Kamala Harris will give a speech Thursday evening in Clarkston, Georgia, where she will be joined by former President Barack Obama. She then travels to Houston, Texas. Second (none) gentleman Doug Emhoff is advocating for them in Wisconsin today. Her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, will attend events in Greenville and Wilmington, North Carolina, on Thursday afternoon.
Former President Donald Trump will hold a rally in Tempe, Arizona, on Thursday afternoon, followed by an appearance at a Turning Point Action rally in Las Vegas, Nevada, in the evening. His running mate, Ohio Senator JD Vance, will speak in the evening in Waterford, Michigan.
Full court press…
I know I keep saying this, but the decision in Trump’s New York civil fraud case should be made by the Intermediate Court of Appeals… any day. Maybe even today! (We’ll find out shortly.)
Morning rumination
I’m slow to today’s Morning Minute as I was trying (and barely managing) to catch up on X/Twitter. Last night, after her town hall appearance on CNN with Anderson Cooper, I ranted a bit about how Harris didn’t seem to have the skills you’d expect from a “tough prosecutor,” and it went pretty viral. Here it is for those who would like to read it, but the TL;DR version of it is that Harris doesn’t have the skills of a prosecutor and is a bogus fraud.
I’ve been trying to think of ways to express and explain my anger at Kamala Harris (politics aside). I know I’ve talked about this on the show sometimes (@NewstalkSTL ), but when I saw her with Anderson Cooper at City Hall tonight, it really hit me.
