Washington (Nexstar) – There are major changes for millions of Medicaid recipients, and the legislature on both sides of the gang sounds the alarm, especially for those who live in rural America.

The Trump administration quickly moves to launch a 50 billion dollar fund for rural health care of 50 billion US dollars to fight the hospitals before the Medicaid cuts come into force in 2027.

“We are at Warp speed,” said Dr. Mehmet OZ, the newly appointed CMS administrator.

OZ, who was attracted to the monitoring of Medicaid by the former President Donald Trump, says that the fund is part of a broader effort to modernize rural health care.

“Innovation is the reigning topic,” said Oz. “We want to let more people handle into practice, especially in areas that are underestimated. We would like to ensure that we have the opportunity to engage other providers more in the health system.”

The initiative, which is described in what Trump described as “Big Beautiful Bill”, warns a CBO report that 11 million people nationwide in the next few years could lose the coverage of Medicaid reporting, since the background of the authorization and the planned budget cuts are planned.

This includes millions in rural communities in which the closings of the hospital have already escalated in recent years.

According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, 44% of rural hospitals are currently working with loss. While the proposed fund in the amount of $ 50 billion is considered a lifeline, the group warns that it covers only about a third of the expected deficiency caused by medicaid financing cuts.

Sen Josh Hawley (R-M-Mo.) Legislate used to expand the Rural Hospital Fund in the next eight years.

“Let’s make sure that there are never cuts in rural hospitals,” said Hawley.

Democrats accuse the Republicans of trying to drive the damage on paper.

“For every Republican who said:” Oh, they were not actually cut to Medicaid. “

According to OZ, the states can start applying for the novel rural health funds from September, but has not clarified which hospitals or regions are prioritized.
