The Trump team continues to unveil Cabinet appointments, announcing Monday evening that former Wisconsin congressman Sean Duffy has been selected by the president-elect to serve as transportation secretary.
If confirmed, he will take over from current Secretary Pete Buttigieg, who has struggled with the role, to say the least.
In one Campaign emailpraised the Trump-Vance Transition Team Duffy:
I am pleased to announce that former Wisconsin Congressman Sean Duffy has been nominated for Secretary of Transportation. Sean was an outstanding and popular public servant who began his career as District Attorney for Ashland, Wisconsin and was later elected to the U.S. House of Representatives for Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District.
During his time in Congress, Sean was a respected voice and communicator in the Republican Conference, advocating for fiscal responsibility, economic growth and rural development. Widely admired, Sean worked with Democrats to overcome extensive legislative hurdles and build the largest road and bridge project in Minnesota history.

Duffy is currently co-host of “The Bottom Line” on Fox Business and a contributor on Fox News. His wife, Rachel Campos-Duffy, is also a “STAR” at Fox, as the Trump campaign puts it, and they have nine children together.
Sean will apply his experience and the relationships he has built over many years in Congress to maintain and rebuild our nation’s infrastructure and fulfill our mission of ushering in the Golden Age of Travel, with an emphasis on safety, efficiency and innovation lies. Importantly, it will greatly improve the travel experience for all Americans!

Of course, since he is a Trump favorite, there were those who were just waiting to “strike.” This was a pretty effective riposte to Politico’s shot at Duffy:
