It’s on!
The Trump campaign has been unusually tranquil since last week’s presidential debate, in which Joe Biden came across as having all the intelligence, acumen, wit and knowledge of a potted fern. Watching aged Joe last week (and since) was like watching a long line of dumpster fires get hit by a series of runaway train wrecks.
On Wednesday, Team Trump published a statement (written by campaign staffers Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles) regarding Biden’s (lack of) cognitive abilities and the Democratic Party’s abuse of power to keep the matter as secret as possible.
“Every Democrat calling for crook Joe Biden’s resignation was once a supporter of Biden and his failed policies that have led to extreme inflation, open borders, and chaos at home and abroad. Don’t be fooled into believing that the Democrats, mainstream media, and the swamp are conspiring to hide the truth from the American public – Joe Biden is weak, failed, dishonest, and not fit for the White House. Every one of them has lied about Joe Biden’s cognitive state and supported his disastrous policies for the past four years, especially cackling co-pilot Kamala Harris.
President Trump will beat every Democrat on November 5th because he has a proven track record and an agenda to make America great again.”
This is a typical Trump statement, right down to the passage about the “giggling co-pilot Kamala Harris.”

There are some significant points buried in the usual Trump-speak.
First, yes, once the debate was over and Joe Biden’s mental and physical deterioration could no longer be concealed, the knives came in. Democrats are running from the Biden campaign and the Biden administration like rats from a sinking ship—with the notable exception of the giggling co-pilot, who is busily consulting with interior designers about plans to remodel the Oval Office.
Second, yes, the conventional media was complicit in the cover-up of Joe Biden’s downfall. This is a near-criminal conspiracy – fraud, basically – that the predominantly left-wing media is perpetrating on the people. Fortunately, the internet has led to an explosion of alternatives, and there are now excellent sites like RedState (and our sister town hall group sites) to counter the Democratic activists occupying the legacy media.
Third, yes, Joe Biden is faint, failed and dishonest. He would not be fit for the presidency even if he were not dishonest; he could have been as incorruptible as Cato and as committed to republican principles as Cincinnatus and would still be unfit for the presidency because of his mental deterioration. But he is nothing but dishonest in word and deed and faint in principle, and never has been. At his best he was never more than mediocre; now his weakness is a threat to national security.
Trump’s statement, an assessment after the debate in typical Trump style, therefore expresses some very pertinent points.
There are four months until the election. The momentum is in Trump’s favor. The polls are trending more and more in Trump’s favor. But if Republicans want to win, they damn well have to be prepared to sprint to the end. Because the long knives now drawn for Joe Biden’s re-election desires will turn back in Trump’s direction once this issue is decided one way or the other after the debate.
