Trump speaks at the DNC, Harris speech with Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum

On Thursday evening, former President Trump responded to questions from Fox News’ Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum following Vice President Kamala Harris’ acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention (DNC).

The first topic the Fox hosts pressed the former president on had to do with the debates. During her speech, Kamala Harris implied that Donald Trump was not ready to debate. Trump implied that he was willing to participate in multiple debates, a claim he has made practically from the beginning:

Trump then attacked Kamala Harris for her implicitly dishonest statements on Project 2025 and her failure to address the issues of taxes and interest rates. He claimed that Kamala Harris was a Marxist and would “leave the border open”:

The post continued:

Interest rates are approaching record highs. People can’t do business anymore. They can’t borrow money anymore.

I can confirm his comments on the exodus of the pharmaceutical industry to Ireland first hand, as I was involved in medical manufacturing and combined pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing at the time. Ireland was known as the ‘Celtic Tiger’ in medical manufacturing at the time as so many companies were moving there.

On immigration, Trump talked about closing the border and how the Biden administration could have closed the border at any time. In fact, the executive branch is responsible for border security and has broad authority to do so:

The former president also described burying the hatchet with Georgia Republican Governor Brian Kemp, a move many had hoped he would make. President Trump also discussed a possible meeting with independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is expected to drop out of the race on Friday – amid speculation that he might endorse Donald Trump:
