Washington – President Donald Trump was unclear on Wednesday about his plans to employ National Guard troops in cities across the country, and seemed to send the troops back to Chicago slightly, while he teased New Orleans as possible as possible.

Third Democratic City for the National Guard?

The Texas GOV office refuses the Pritzker report
Shortly after Trumps Tuesdays, reporters comment on reporters, said Pritzker, a US customs and border protection officer recently called the head of Illinois State Police to inform state officials that immigration and customs authorities would soon be sent there.

“We have reason to assume that the Trump government has already started to stage the Texas National Guard for use in Illinois,” said Pritzker. “We know before something happened here that the Trump plan should use an excuse for the use of armed military personnel to Chicago.”

Abbott has previously been involved in national questions with Pritzker. During a wave of immigration during the term of office of President Joe Biden, he drove migrants to Chicago.

“It would be an invasion”

“I am not aware that this has ever happened in the past, and I don’t think it would be legal,” said Dycus. “There is no provision in the constitution or somewhere else that would enable a state to attack another purpose or to enter another.”
Joseph Nunn, lawyer at the Brennan Center Liberty and National Security Program, agreed that it would be a “constitutional obstacle” for the governor of a state to send the National Guard for another without the consent of a governor.
Illinois would quickly question such a mission and would probably prevail in legal disputes, said Nunn.
But Mirasola said because courts have never considered the problem, it is not clear that Illinois would be successful.
Courts, including a unanimous 9th US Court of Appeals by the US Circuit of Appeals, which is negotiating a case this year on the employ of the National Guard in Los Angeles, gave the executive “incredible respect” for mobilizing the national guard.
“It is a pretty close analysis, as I think that dishes would end up on this topic,” he said. “I don’t think it’s clear.”
A more secure legal way for Trump could be to federal and send the national guard of a state and send it to Illinois or another state that does not apply for an assignment, said Nunn.
“It is far more likely that you will see that the national guard of a red state voluntarily federal – federalized with the consent of the governor – and then used to Illinois,” he said. “Under these circumstances, they will essentially become federal troops. And the president can send federal troops wherever he wants to send them.”
