The year 2024 is coming to an end, as is President Joe Biden’s term in office, which ends on January 20, 2025 with the swearing in of former POTUS Donald Trump as the 47th President of the United States.

Biden’s political legacy is already being hotly debated, with Democrats, of course, describing his decades in government in many words as an “outstanding career.”

Republicans, meanwhile, weren’t shy about pointing out some uncomfortable facts about Biden’s time in Congress and then the White House, including his disgraceful treatment of Justices Robert Bork and Clarence Thomas in the behind schedule 1980s and early 1990s during their respective confirmations to the Supreme Court Hearings come to mind.

Among them was GOP strategist/CNN commentator Scott Jennings, who appeared on Thursday’s edition of “NewsNight” to criticize Biden for his admitted regrets, which did not include the deadly 2021 Afghanistan withdrawal debacle that resulted in the deaths of 13 U.S -led soldiers.

On Sunday, Jennings made it clear that he was not finished assessing Biden’s legacy, again pointing to Afghanistan and the pardon of Hunter Biden concentrate more on the White House cover-up surrounding Joe Biden’s mental acuity:

“I think he will leave office in disgrace.”

“Hunter Biden’s pardon was a disgrace. He will be remembered primarily for inflation and the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan. And I think as we move forward, we’re just getting the first draft of it.”

“But as we continue to learn about the massive cover-up that has taken place, the issue is not about his health, but about his mental capacity to cover this up, the efforts that were made by the White House staff, by his family, not by the … have been undertaken over the last few months, but for all four years it’s going to be a really ugly chapter.

“I think we still don’t know the full extent of what they did to hide what they did in the West Wing.”

Kamala Harris apologist Bakari Sellers’ only response was to point out that it was Trump who had fallen “from grace” thanks to the events of January 6, 2021 (where he called on his supporters to “peacefully and patriotically” protest , which Sellers didn’t mention). and also the two impeachment trials (which he skipped were politically motivated attacks by Democrats who couldn’t accept that he had defeated Hillary Clinton in 2016).

Regard:

Jennings makes an important point. I think what we’re likely to learn in the coming months about the cover-up of Biden’s mental disability will be jaw-dropping, with information that could potentially include how high up the chain of command the deliberate deception reached.

Through a belated admission from NBC News journalist Chuck Todd after Biden’s disastrous debate performance in June 2024, we already know that a “senior Cabinet secretary” spoke to him as early as 2022 about his concerns about Biden’s mental state. Todd also confessed that this was a “classic open secret, a nonversal that… everyone knows and everyone was afraid to talk about”:

“I will not throw out the cabinet secretary. But I had a cabinet secretary two years ago, okay – two years ago ask me out of the blue, “You.” Rreally Do you think he won’t…he won’t be able to run like that again?’ And I said, “Well, you have more contact with him than I do,” and they said, “I don’t have much contact with him.” That’s a pretty senior Cabinet secretary. Well, that was two years ago. That’s one of them, you know, it’s the classic open secret, the nonversation, right? It’s the story that everyone knows and that everyone was afraid to talk about.”

Anyone in Biden’s immediate environment knew about it but looked the other way and also aspires to higher office should not have a chance, and that includes Vice President Kamala Harris. It is a scandal of epic proportions for which its gatekeepers should not shirk political responsibility.
