As we previously reported, there was a lot of backlash on Sunday when Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance sat down for what appeared to be a controversial interview with CNN anchor Dana Bash, who repeatedly accused the Ohio senator of bringing to featherlight the concerns of voters who he said claimed Haitian migrants were eating pets and waterfowl in Springfield.

“Before Donald Trump spoke on a debate stage about eating dogs and cats, it was you, Senator, who first started this unfounded rumor,” Bash said. snorted. “These are your constituents, so why are you putting them at risk by continuing to spread claims about Haitian immigrants when your state’s authorities say there is no evidence and are begging you to stop?”

True to his nature, Vance did not back down and told Bash he could “ignore [my constituents]what the American media has been doing to this community for years, or I can actually talk about what people are telling me.”

Like a dog gnawing on a bone, the media is obsessed with this story – not because they really care about the people of Springfield and their myriad problems, but because it gives them an opportunity to do what they and their Democratic allies do best: gratuitously play the racism card to get a Republican to shut up about Democrats whose policy positions have had disastrous consequences.

Not surprisingly, Vance was asked about his Springfield-related allegations while on the campaign trail in Wisconsin on Tuesday, where he gave a edged New York Times reporter a master class in coaching.

In his remarks, Vance explained that it is his job as a senator to listen to his constituents, investigate their stories, and inform the public – especially when those people feel they have been ignored by other officials to whom they have reported them, and especially when the problem has become widespread/perilous and/or is being downplayed by the left-wing press.

To reiterate a point I made earlier, the media is hyper-focused on this story not because they genuinely care about the Haitian migrants and residents, but because it reflects very poorly on the Biden-Harris administration and its perilous amnesty policies. And because of that, the MSM’s mission is to discredit Trump and Vance by attempting to portray them as racists, all to distract from the very real problems plaguing Springfield – whether that includes eating cats or not.

The fact that Vance doesn’t back down and refuses to shy away from her questions and accusations of “fake news” makes her enraged – hence the Bash Inquisition and now this.

In fact, the more reporters demand that Vance stop talking about the issues his voters are bringing to his attention, the more he will denounce the media for wanting to suppress those stories, which will make voters question why they want to keep those stories under wraps.

One can only conclude that it is the media that comes off worse here for trying to suppress the story, not Trump and Vance for bringing it up. You would think that given the historic lows of trust in the media, they would want to avoid letting those numbers drop even further. But TDS/VDS does strange things to people, and journalists are certainly no exception to that rule.
