If there is a worse job in the House of Representatives than Rep. Ayanna Presley (D-MA), I have a difficult time imagining who it could be. She’s strident, she’s aggressive, and she seems to have very little understanding (or concern) for how the Constitution works or how things are structured the way they are in this country – including the Bill of Rights.
The most recent example of this lack of understanding is when she protested to congressional Republicans for supporting the overdue Dr. Squad” member.
See for yourself:
I’m not sure who the hell is a race-baiter @AyannaPressley believes she is and demands that MLK’s name only come from her own mouth.
I guarantee MLK would be appalled by their constant attempts to divide the country.
I’m so tired of this crap!@RepClayHiggins doesn’t play

Rep. Higgins responded forcefully, citing his service, his oath to the Constitution – and continuing to serve as Dr. King will quote and quote when and where he sees fit. That is the only possible response to a hateful, constitutionally uneducated rant like Rep. Pressley’s. He said in part:
I appreciate my Democratic colleague for illustrating exactly the kind of suppression of freedoms we were referring to. How about we quote whoever we want to quote? What if that was my first amendment, right? This is exactly the kind of entrenched oppression – how dare a white Republican quote Martin Luther King? A congressman in this committee just said that. And thank you, good lady, for once again illustrating the kind of oppression we stand against. You know I’m right; You know I’m right.
You know what? He is 100 percent right. In every way.
Here is another quote from Dr. King, which is insightful – probably not for Rep. Pressley, as I doubt she is capable of hearing from Dr. King or anyone else to be enlightened – but just for illustration:
The darkness cannot drive out the darkness; Only featherlight can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; Only love can do that.
This is an silver-tongued statement; Darkness vs. featherlight, hate vs. love. Which side of these things is Ayanna Pressley on? She’s literally railing against a House colleague for quoting someone who wanted his children to be judged by their character, not the color of their skin.
Here is another quote from Dr. King:
Our life begins to end the day we become noiseless about essential things.
Freedom of speech is essential. Freedom of expression in any form is essential. It’s essential to stand up to would-be tyrants like Ayanna Presley. Dr. King understood this; What’s more, he fought for it. Ayanna Pressley is unable to live in the shadow of Dr. King to walk.

And all I can say about Ayanna Presley is this: I live in a free speech zone, Congresswoman. It’s called the United States of America, and I’m going to say and write what I want, when and where I want, and if you’re not joyful about that, that’s a damn shame.
