To say that Nancy Mace provoked CNN on Friday would be an understatement. The liberal network was thrown into chaos after the South Carolina congresswoman “mispronounced” Kamala Harris’ name during a panel discussion.

Michael Eric Dyson and Keith Boykin took the lead in defending Harris, repeatedly attempting to “correct” Mace when she made political points that had nothing to do with her crusade. It was an embarrassing demonstration of how superficial and untrustworthy the national press is.

If the above clip is a bit long for you, here is one of the breakdowns that took place.

You’ll have to forgive me for not transcribing this cluster. It’s nearly impossible to get it right when people start shouting over someone, as happened here with Mace. But for those who can’t see the video, Dyson and Boykin lose their minds and claim the congresswoman is “intentionally” mispronouncing Harris’ name. It’s an insane reaction to what was, at best, a slight deviation in pronunciation.

In the clip above, the difference boils down to whether you say “Comma-la” or “Ca-ma-la.” Who cares? Why would anyone freak out about it on live TV? Harris’ name is of Indian origin. It’s odd for an English speaker to pronounce her name the way she does, let alone remember exactly which letters to stress in the actual pronunciation. Even if someone “corrected” someone else on the matter, it would take a while to get it right every time.

This is stupid even for the “everything is racist” faction. I understand that people like Dyson and Boykin make a living spreading racism, but let’s be sincere. The Democrats call the Republicans fascists and they have about 25 different variations of Trump’s name that they apply in a derogatory way. I think not spelling Harris’ name quite right is just a little less bad.

America has real problems. Is anyone living paycheck to paycheck concerned about how Mace pronounces Kamala Harris’s name? I’ve never seen Dyson or Boykin get worked up about inflation, but if someone doesn’t put the right flavor on the first “a” in Harris’s name, they freak out. This shows how out of touch the press is. They hang on to trivialities backed up by double standards while normal people roll their eyes.
