In recent days, a cacophony has spread across the political landscape: Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and his running mate Nicole Shanahan have given clear signs that he may soon suspend his candidacy for 2024.
As RedState’s Susie Moore reported, Shanahan wrote in an X-Post on Thursday about “[her] old Dem buddies”: [emphasis added]
My ancient Democrat buddies are flooding me with panicked calls, texts and emails. Unlike Ro, I wouldn’t dream of making these private conversations public, but the message is clear: They are terrified of the idea of our movement aligning itself with Donald Trump. When I point this out…

My ancient Democrat buddies are flooding me with panicked calls, texts and emails. Unlike Ro, I wouldn’t dream of making these private conversations public, but the message is clear: They are afraid of the idea that our movement will ally itself with Donald TrumpWhen I point out what the Democratic Party and its Super PACs have done to sabotage our election campaign, Their answer is always: “But Trump is worse.” Here’s an idea: Stop suing us. Let’s discuss. Stop manipulating the media and the polls. The formula is very plain, people – join in.

RFK Jr. Camp says he’s considering dropping out of the race, but sends mixed messages about what happens next
My colleague at sister site Townhall, Rebecca Downs, wrote On Thursday night, a special guest will appear alongside Republican candidate Donald Trump at the Turning Point USA event in Glendale, Arizona, already scheduled for Friday. There is speculation that it could be Kennedy – and the murmuring will only grow louder since it was announced that RFK Jr. requested his withdrawal from the Arizona election on Thursday:

If you can’t read the post, it says:

Also on Thursday: Donald Trump’s vice presidential candidate, Senator JD Vance (R-OH) sat down on “The Glenn Beck Program” with the syndicated radio host, and they chatted about a variety of topics, including the Buckeye State lawmaker’s “dissatisfaction” with the way the Biden-Harris administration is handling the investigation into the assassination attempt on Trump in July.
But in another excerpt from their interview, Vance explained why he believes the Kennedy scion would help Trump if he came on board.
Going back a bit, Beck opened the clip with the possibility that both X owner Elon Musk and Kennedy could work together as part of a Trump-Vance administration. And while Vance addressed this recent, intriguing idea about Musk, his response mostly revolved around the Massachusetts politician:
Beck: Are there grave discussions about the entry of Elon Musk and RFK (sic) – where do you think he would be best placed?
Vance: I’m obviously trying not to put too much pressure on Elon because I think he’s a genius and I think he could help us a lot. But of course we have to win the election first before we give Elon any positions or titles here.
I think RFK could really do a lot for us in terms of issues – you know, we have 8,000 veterans, I think maybe more, that we’ve kicked out of the military because they refused to get vaccinated. I’d love for RFK to look into that, but I haven’t talked to him. I don’t know what he’s interested in.
Regard:
.@JDVance where @RobertKennedyJr could fit into the Trump administration if he advocated: “We have 8,000 veterans, maybe more, that we kicked out of the military because they refused to get vaccinated. I would love for RFK to look into that.” pic.twitter.com/V09JdS4vmf

Until former President Trump and Kennedy have a chance to speak – perhaps as early as Friday in the Copper State – we can only wait for the answer to the question my colleague Ward Clark posed in his recent article when Kennedy announced he would speak to Americans on Friday: “Will he join Team Trump?”
