CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) – Outgoing Governor Jim Justice endorsed former Delegate Moore Capito in the crowded Republican primary.

This confirmation came last week, and it’s no secret that the Justice and Capito families have been allies for years. But Moore Capito says it’s more than that; He has worked with the governor in the Legislature for nearly eight years, particularly on economic issues.

“His support made it clear and clear that we need to keep this momentum going. And as he said in his endorsement of our campaign, which is a great honor for us, we are fully focused on ensuring that we maintain the momentum in creating jobs and opportunities here in West Virginia,” the former Del said. Capito says one of his substantial accomplishments on the governor’s bench was supporting the state’s 21% income tax cut last year. All four leading Republican gubernatorial candidates support eliminating the state income tax entirely, perhaps in the next few years.

Candidates Chris Miller, Patrick Morrisey and Mac Warner will join Capito on this week’s edition of “Inside West Virginia Politics.”
