Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., said Thursday she looks forward to an investigation into the shooting of a Minnesota woman by an immigration agent this week.
Capito told West Virginia reporters Thursday morning that she saw a video of a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer fatally injured Shoot Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis. Good was shot through the window of her vehicle. Good, 37, was described as “Legal Observer” on the Trump administration’s crackdown on immigration enforcement in the city.
“First of all, I think it’s difficult to be an ICE agent. It’s difficult to enforce our immigration laws, especially in the communities where they existed in Minnesota, where there’s a large immigrant community and broad opposition and some kind of protest against them,” Capito said. “Any loss of life is a tragedy. I think we see from the video that there are questions about how this all happened and why it happened.
“I look forward to the investigation that I believe President Trump has called for,” Capito said. “And I think we’re going to find the answers here. That’s why I think it’s hard to watch. It’s hard to watch.”
Capito made the comments in response to a question from West Virginia MetroNews during a news conference with West Virginia reporters Thursday morning.

The Filming and videos This has created a divide between people like Minneapolis city officials, who view Good as a victim, and Trump administration officials, who claim the officer acted in self-defense. Congressional Democrats have demanded an investigation into the shooting.
