After one of the worst political defeats in the history of the republic, namely the 2024 presidential election, the loser – Kamala Harris – is apparently trying to decide how to stage a comeback.
We should note that if not, she was turned off by one of them The, greatest political comebacks in American history: Trump II, The Return of Trump, which has rightly been chronicled, reviewed and analyzed in political playbooks for generations. But what happens now to Kamala Harris?
Turns out she has one few options.
Top helpers and people nearby Kamala Harris are divided over whether she should go home to run for governor of California in 2026 — and it all depends on whether they believe she can win the Democratic nomination for president in an expected primary in 2028 can.
Some believe that after quickly improving her reputation and raising more than $1 billion in her surprise 100-day run, she should embark on a repeat run. Others fear that in a longer election campaign, some of the other major Democratic candidates who had to sit out 2024 out of consideration will be the first to run Joe Biden And then Harris could be left in the lurch and suffer the humiliation of being rejected by her own party after her defeat by Donald Trump.
Would she have a chance of running for governor of deep blue California herself? I’m not so sure.
The governor’s race, meanwhile, looks like a back-and-forth affair: Harris has been elected three times statewide and served a combined 10 years as attorney general and U.S. senator, and when asked by CNN, several major candidates made it clear, either directly or through advisers, that they would would probably step aside if she came in.
Yes, that makes me skeptical. Kamala Harris won these three national elections before her bumbling, incompetent presidential run. She also won it before Donald Trump rewrote the book of American politics and greatly changed California outside the cities red. An attempt by the Queen of Word Salads to make a statewide bid might be just enough to allow a California Republican to win enough votes to win the governor’s race. Admittedly, Gavin Newsom narrowly won re-election in 2022 56 percent of the votes. However, he ran against a number of Republicans; if the California Republican Party manages to get it Anatidae If the candidates are arranged in a linear fashion and unite behind a mighty candidate, the odds can change – especially if they are running against the taciturn and incompetent Kamala Harris.

But another shot at the presidency in 2028? Don’t make me laugh.
Another presidential run for Kamala Harris would likely end similarly to the 2020 attempt — an embarrassing performance followed by a quick exit. In the first Democratic primary debate of 2019, Tulsi Gabbard deftly exposed Kamala Harris for what a dumb idiot she is. Gabbard completely eviscerated Harris at this stage of the debate, writing the playbook for how to do it again. Kamala Harris’ record as vice president also hardly inspires confidence, as she proved to be a complete failure in one of her key roles as border czar. It is unclear whether she was even within sight of the border – either border – unless she was flying above it at an altitude of 36,000 feet.
Harris cannot expect another appointment. There are too many Democrats who would rise up to challenge her because they sense weakness like a grizzly bear senses a nearby moose carcass.
The truth is, Kamala Harris should probably get used to the idea of a life outside of politics. She may have a chance of becoming governor of California – a compact chance, I think – but then again, she may not, and another loss would mean the end of any future she has in the political realm. No, Kamala, if she were to take my advice, it would be better if she had a loose “biography” written by a ghostwriter and went on a few speaking tours, as ex-cops often do. As far as major elected offices go, she’s probably finished.
