Tallahassee, Fla. (AP) – The efforts of Floridas First Lady Casey Desantis have long been a topic of discussion in the state capital of Tallahassee. This week her husband Governor Ron Desantis added speculation by spending her as a potential successor.
Florida’s law limits the governors to two consecutive terms, which means that the popular Republican governor in 2026 cannot run for re -election – although he was theoretically able to run for the office again in the future.
When he approaches the end of his second term, Desantis promotes his wife and confidante and shot at the election of President Donald Trump for the job, Rep. Byron Donalds.
“All of these people chat about their running. And what I said was, you know … she’s never angled for anything, right? Because that’s just not what it is, ”said Desantis, 46, on Monday when she spoke to reporters.
