On any given day, the cray cray is particularly mighty on the set of ABC’s The View, as we’ve documented many times.
But on Thursday’s edition, things got a little extra on set when two of the far-left co-hosts started floating a bizarre conspiracy theory and suggesting that they would be okay with the implications if it were carried out. like they wanted President-elect Donald Trump disappeared – as in The somehow “gone”.
According to Whoopi Goldberg, the theory is that Vice President-elect JD Vance and Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) co-head Elon Musk are allegedly plotting and scheming to get rid of Trump, possibly through extraordinarily nefarious means.

Here’s how the segment between Goldberg and her fellow co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Joy Behar went (streamed from the video):
Goldberg: Who’s in charge? Because I’ve been saying it for a while. I said that I think Elon Musk believes he is president. I do.
Behar: Well, you called him vice president.
Goldberg: I called him vice president. I called him president because I don’t know what JD does. I barely see it – I don’t remember [the] Last time we even talked about JD.
Hostin: You’re right.
Behar: He plans to run for the presidency if they get rid of Trump.
Goldberg: So you think it’s Musk – Musk/Vance?
Behar: Possible.
Goldberg: Mmmhmm. Hey, you-know-who, stay away from the stairs. Because, you know, people stick out their leg to trip you up the stairs. Danger.
It’s not just what they said, but also their appearance when they talked about it that raised a few eyebrows.

Apparently something was said during the commercial break, because when they returned, Goldberg angrily backed down and made it clear that they weren’t really joyful about the prospect of Vance and/or Musk stretching out a leg to take down Trump, as he tried to go down the stairs.
And seemingly frustrated at having to explain what she said, Goldberg told the audience that there was “no way” she could “get on your nerves” with the statements made on the show. Hostin, who had to read legal statements several times after making unfounded claims about certain Republicans, later reiterated that Goldberg “did not mean that anyone should harm the president.”

You know, it’s kind of fascinating for me to watch this conversation, especially considering that Kamala Harris stood in the wings for four years and watched in pointed silence as Joe Biden steadily declined until he was forced out of the presidency after that She was elected to office and became the Democratic candidate, although she never took part in a single primary election as a presidential candidate.
If these ladies really wanted to talk about something much closer to an actual coup attempt, they could have started there. But they didn’t, because not only did Biden and Harris get passes because their names had the magic “D,” but the co-hosts of “The View” themselves were heavily involved in perpetuating the lie that even with Joe Biden said everything was fine even though that was clearly not the case.
A case in point is the back and forth between Behar and boss Jill Biden in May, about a month before the disastrous debate that led to Biden withdrawing from the race:
Joy Behar rants to Jill Biden about people calling Joe Biden mentally and physically unfit for office.
She claims he’s “on top of his game,” “competent” and “attentive,” while Trump is “slacker and doesn’t remember anything, can’t put a sentence together, and has brain farts…” pic.twitter.com/kGyDhsyVIr— Nicholas Fondacaro (@NickFondacaro) May 29, 2024
It’s so strange that in the four years that Biden was president, there were never any questions on “The View” like “Who’s in charge?” World and his handlers had to be shown around the White House. Not to mention the fact that he frequently forgot things, including the deaths of members of Congress, and was often seen wandering off stage, appearing lost and off stage.
And yet, even as Musk and Vance do exactly what Trump wants them to do a month after his inauguration, they ask themselves: “Who’s in charge?”
And the particularly amusing thing about it is that Trump isn’t even president yet. We still have about four weeks of the Biden-Harris administration ahead of us. The better question for Whoopi and Sunny to ask is “Where’s Joe?” But that would destroy so many of their false narratives, so of course they won’t do that.
