Every year it seems like the Christmas decorations go up in stores a little earlier; One wouldn’t be surprised these days to find bells on the doors of local stores just days after the patriotic Independence Day bunting comes down. Things are becoming more and more similar in presidential elections; The dust from the 2024 elections has barely settled, the last close races are still being decided and there is already speculation about 2028.

One of those people is Kamala Harris, who apparently hasn’t figured out why she lost in 2024, but that isn’t stopping her Make noises about trying again.

Vice President Kamala Harris is urging her advisers to keep her policy options open as she considers whether to run again for the White House in 2028 or for governor of California in 2026, sources told Politico.

The vice president is expected to think more about her political prospects in the coming weeks, five people close to Harris said Politically. As she considers her decisions, her aides have been working to craft a message for the vice president that both targets President-elect Donald Trump and solidifies her role in the Democratic Party, the outlet reported.

“There will be a desire to hear her voice and there will not be a vacuum for long,” a person close to Harris told the outlet.

My first response to the Democrats’ possible choice of the Queen of Word Salads as their 2028 candidate? Oh, please, please, please, please Please Do this. Here’s why.

First, Kamala Harris is not going to get any smarter or more articulate in the next four years. A certain fictional San Francisco police inspector once warned us, “A man must know his limits,” and that certainly applies to women, especially when running for president. Kamala Harris’s weaknesses as both an elected official and a candidate are clear, not the least of which is that she seems to combine self-righteousness with a certain idle ignorance. These are character flaws that would require a lot of thought, introspection and perhaps a good dose Omphaloscepticism overcome; I don’t think Kamala Harris is capable of any of that.

Second, Kamala Harris’ biggest flaw, which was demonstrated very clearly to voters in both the 2020 Democratic primary and the 2024 election, is that she simply isn’t very astute. This is impossible to overcome; No amount of self-reflection can fix this, and her opponent will suffer no such hindrance. Which brings us to…

Third and finally, the opposition. Whoever Democrats choose to run for the presidency in 2028 will, barring a disaster, face one of two people: Vice President-elect JD Vance or Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. (Admittedly, that’s a prediction, and predictions are notoriously hard, especially about the future.) Both candidates are smarter, more charismatic, better informed and more articulate than Kamala Harris. Of course, in Harris’ case, that means the bar is set so low that someone is in a diving bell at the bottom of the Mariana Trench I would have to look down to see it.

It’s overwhelming to believe that Kamala Harris has a chance of securing the 2028 Democratic nomination.

But the Democrats’ confidence doesn’t seem to be the same in some circles have improved any.

There is consensus in the Democratic Party that the vice president has the “X factor” in the next party primary, Politico reported. Her brief run for president helped her gain respect within the Democratic Party, according to Harris’ allies, the media reported.

“As a political athlete, she proved many skeptics wrong. And her public standing is as good as any Democrat with the name she has,” a Harris ally told Politico.

Yes. Get involved, Harris allies. I mean, it worked out so well this time, and another landslide Republican victory in the 2028 presidential race is a free horse that we’ll look anywhere but in the mouth.
