I think most people on the right knew that Joe Biden was lying when he said he wouldn’t pardon his son, that his statement was all just an election calculation, that now that the election is over and Hunter is about to In order to be convicted, Joe gave up the pretext.
But as Matt Vespa in the town hall reportedPeople on the left fell for it, or at least took the party line about how noble Biden was for not pardoning him. So not only did Biden lie, but now, with the pardon, he has undermined all those on the left who supported him and believed his nonsense.
When MAGA cult followers complain about an “armed justice system,” remind them that President Biden has refused to favor his son because he is committed to the rule of law and our justice system, regardless of who is involved.https://t.co/uDXcsOjYXf

Hello Andrew Weissmann, tell us more about Biden’s character.
We’re going to have fun with MANY of these idiots who actually believed that Joe Biden wouldn’t pardon his son because he’s such an honorable man. 🤣 pic.twitter.com/UyTacNAPgt

Here are 9 minutes in which the media told everyone that Joe Biden would not pardon Hunter and how this clearly showed Biden’s commendable belief in the justice system. pic.twitter.com/rNqwiJGoz2

Then came the pardon, and even Community Notes called out Joe Biden, adding an explanation of the pardon to his claim that “no one is above the law.”
Nobody is above the law.

Former Congressman Joe Walsh scrapped the pardon on MSNBC, but the host responded as an excuse by talking about the trauma in Biden’s family and essentially saying, “Hey, we all knew he was going to do it.”

But what angers Walsh most is the fact that Biden’s “selfish move” could only facilitate Trump: “It’s just disappointing.”
Nate Silver criticized Biden for how he hurt Democrats’ chances, calling him a “selfish and senile old man” who was “rubbing salt in the wound of the party brand he helped destroy.”
A selfish and senile ancient man.

Then there was Symone Sanders, a former Biden administration official. It’s all good. Why are you disturbed? It’s good, I say!
Good for the president and good for Hunter. ❤️ https://t.co/Ep243StsfR

You know there had to be a “Republican attack”! somewhere in there when a Democrat does something bad. Here are three headlines from Politico that tell the story.

Free Press columnist Eli Lake had perhaps one of the funniest answers.
President Biden’s pardon of Hunter has all the classic hallmarks of a Russian information operation.

But perhaps the worst came from Obama’s Attorney General, Eric Holder.

Here is the reality.Given the underlying facts, no U.S. law would have charged this case. After a five-year investigation, the facts discovered only made this clear.
Had his name been Joe Smith, the decision would have been – fundamentally and more fairly – a…
— Eric Holder (@EricHolder) December 2, 2024
Obama’s “wingman” Holder claimed that no one “would have prosecuted this case given the underlying facts.”
Really? Nobody would have charged all the potential things that were perceptible on the laptop? Nobody would collect tax fees? What is he even talking about? Holder is ridiculously trying the same gambit as Biden – that Hunter was somehow targeted for prosecution here. He then makes it clear that it’s about Kash Patel because he attacks his nomination and says “hell no” he’s not qualified. They know Patel won’t turn a blind eye.
