Has Joe Biden finally done something so egregious that even some CNN anchors wouldn’t defend it? In a surprising move, Brianna Keilar, who is usually not afraid to show her left-wing leanings, embarrassed Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) over the president’s recent pardon of his son.
In a must-see moment, Keilar played an earlier clip in which Goldman announced in no uncertain terms that Joe Biden had no chance would ever Pardon Hunter Biden. The Democratic congressman then began ranting about Donald Trump. However, CNN didn’t just play the clip. They left Goldman in a corner box on the screen so anyone watching could see his reaction.

As you’ll see, the congressman quickly misleads the audience and tries to escape his earlier statement, but Keilar, to her credit, doesn’t let him get away with it. Look at this.

KEILAR: In July 2023, shortly after that deal fell through, you said the following. I want to watch.

KARL: Do you think pardoning his son would be a mistake?
GOLDMAN: Yes, and I don’t think President Biden will do that, unlike his predecessor who pardoned all of his friends and everyone who had access to him, and I think that’s what you’re seeing in this case. where he went ahead and appointed Merrick Garland, a Trump-appointed US attorney, to investigate the president’s son. Furthermore, if there is no reference to the independence of the Justice Department, I don’t know what we could look for.
KEILAR: How does it feel to watch yourself reassuring people back then that Biden wouldn’t pardon his son?
GOLDMAN: Yes, and I think if this plea agreement and plea agreement had come about, there would be no pardon.
KEILAR: The plea deal had already fallen through.
(Goldman sits in silence for a moment)
GOLDMAN: Excuse me?
KEILAR: By the time you reacted, the deal had already fallen through.
Goldman is such a slimy politician. Before playing the clip, Keilar stated what date it was after The deal fell through, but the congressman still tried to suggest his comments were made previously. Well, I’m sure the Bidens would have been cheerful if Hunter Biden had made a ridiculous sweetheart deal where he didn’t have to bear any responsibility, but that didn’t happen and Goldman insisted after that point that Joe Biden wouldn’t forgive his son. “I don’t think there’s a chance” isn’t ambiguous. It leaves no room for maneuver.
Furthermore, Goldman then played up his claim of attacking Trump, suggesting that anyone would do so would Giving pardons to “your friends” is corrupt. It was a blatant partisan attack that avoided any context to portray Joe Biden as a model of honesty and virtue. That all came crashing down Sunday night when it was announced that he had pardoned Hunter Biden.
Goldman says in a video that it would be a mistake for Joe Biden to do that. Now that he’s done it, the Democrat wants to try to rewrite history and find an excuse. However, it doesn’t wash. It was Goldman who claimed in that 2023 exchange that Merrick Garland’s indictment of Hunter Biden with a “Trump-appointed U.S. attorney” was evidence of “the Justice Department’s independence.” This contradicts Joe Biden’s reasoning for issuing the pardon.
As RedState reported, the president claimed that the Justice Department was taking political action against his son. So what is it? Does Goldman believe AG Garland and his cohorts are completely fair and independent, or was the pardon justified? Because despite all his efforts, he is unable to achieve both.

The Democrats are stuck. They spent years defending Biden as something he was not and never was. Now they have to eat the poop sandwich that the outgoing president served them. They could have been direct with the American people and said they simply didn’t know what Joe Biden was going to do. Instead they used the claim that he would never Pardon Hunter Biden as a way to attack Republicans for political reasons. It completely backfired and no one should feel sorry for them.
