Mon County Commissioner candidate MaryAnn Folz is running her campaign outside the polls
Monongalia County Republican candidate MaryAnn Folz campaigned outside Mountainview Elementary School to speak to voters Tuesday morning.
Folz said she decided to run for commissioner after returning to Morgantown two years ago and decided to make Mountainview Elementary her first stop because of its proximity to her birthplace.
“I looked around and found that some things are better and some things are worse. “That’s why I want to keep pushing forward the things that are going well and fixing the things that are broken,” she said.
Folz said one of her goals is to create a more collaborative environment within the community.
“I want to have … one meeting a month at a town hall where the community can come together and share their ideas about things that need to be addressed or ideas about how we can fix things,” she said.
Folz said drug addiction, homelessness, road maintenance and employment are all issues she wants to address.
“I just want to make our city more attractive, the entire district more attractive,” she said.
