WAYNE COUNTY, WV (WOWK) – Some people who voted early in Wayne County District 62 will have to vote again after an issue was discovered with the candidacy for House District 27, according to Wayne County City Clerk Craig Evans.

Clerk Evans said this affects 34 early voters and 19 absentee voters who voted on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday last week.

He said every voter whose ballot was tampered with was contacted and given the option to vote again early, vote in their home precinct on Election Day or request an absentee ballot.

As of Monday afternoon, twelve early voters had returned to the courthouse to vote again.

The race is between Republican candidate Michael D. Amos, Libertarian candidate Craig Carpenter II and Democratic candidate Gina Milum.
